Nicotine Pouch MOQ and Lead Times: How a First Order Is Planned

  • /
  • /
The minimum order for white label nicotine pouches at FEDRS is 2,000 cans, and you can split that volume across several flavours and strengths in one production run. A first order is produced within 30 days of the samples, formula and packaging being approved. Most of the planning happens before that clock starts.

On a quote, MOQ and lead time look like two separate numbers. They aren’t, really. How many SKUs you put into the first order changes how long sampling takes, and the market you sell into can set a date that has nothing to do with the factory. Below is how we plan a first order with a new partner, using the terms we publish on our white label page.
This page is intended for adults of legal age in their market and for business partners.
It is not an invitation to start using nicotine.

What is the minimum order for nicotine pouches?

It depends on the manufacturer, and plenty of them don’t publish a figure at all. Ours is 2,000 cans. The same minimum applies whether you order under your own brand or buy FEDRS products wholesale.
Notice what the number counts. It’s the whole order in cans. You don’t need 2,000 of each flavour.

How do you split 2,000 cans across SKUs?

Most partners launch with 4 to 6 SKUs, and that’s what we recommend. A focused range tells you what sells before you widen it. Do the arithmetic and you get roughly 330 to 500 cans per SKU.
An even split is only a starting point. You can weight the order toward the profiles you expect to move fastest and keep the rest small.

Selling into two countries at once?

Then check the strength of every SKU against both. A can at 50 mg/g can’t go into a market capped far below that, so you either build the range around the stricter market or plan separate SKUs for each. The second option eats into your 2,000 cans quickly. Our two strength lines are 5 to 20 mg/g for regulated markets and 50 to 75 mg/g for markets with no cap.

How long does a first order take?

Up to 30 days of production, counted from approval. That last part is where buyers usually get the timeline wrong, because everything before approval sits outside those 30 days.
Every round of sample changes moves the production start. Six SKUs mean six specs to approve, and that’s one more reason to keep the first range tight.

Under DAP we arrange transport to the named destination. Import formalities and any duties or taxes due there are yours, so if the goods leave the EU, line up a customs broker before they arrive.

Repeat orders usually run faster. The specs, artwork and packaging already exist, so there’s nothing left to approve.

What has to happen before production can start?

Two things: your approvals, and your market’s paperwork. The second can take longer than the whole production cycle.
Sweden is a good example. Its Act on tobacco-free nicotine products puts a six-month gap between notifying a product and selling it. Six months is roughly six production cycles. For a Swedish launch, then, the date that decides everything is the end of that window. Production can be timed to finish shortly before it, and there's little point paying for stock that has to wait in a warehouse.

Other markets run registration on their own timelines, so it helps to settle early who does what. Before approval we run a preliminary check of your target market: whether the product can be sold there at all, and what limits apply to nicotine, caffeine and other characteristics. That’s why the market belongs in your brief, even if you’re not sure yet.

The notification work stays on your side. In our cooperation, filing it, preparing the documents the regulator asks for and arranging any lab testing are handled by the brand owner, and we’ll ask you for the packaging details we need from our side. Who the law names as responsible differs by market (Sweden's act, for instance, speaks of manufacturers and importers), so check how that applies to your supply chain. Put it into your plan from day one, next to the six-month window if you’re selling in Sweden.

If you’re still at the idea stage, our guide to starting a nicotine pouch brand in Europe walks through that order of decisions.

When is it worth ordering more than the minimum?

Each tier has its own per-unit price, and that's the main reason to look past the minimum at all. The catch is stock. A large run of a flavour that doesn't reorder ties up money you could have spent on the ones that do.

Partners entering a new market usually start at the first tier and move up once reorders settle into a pattern. On average our clients reorder about every two months, which gives you a regular point to adjust the split between SKUs. By then you know which SKUs to scale, and repeat orders don't mean waiting through a full first-order cycle again.

We don't publish tier prices. They depend on the formula, the packaging and the volume, so you get them for your project after the brief. If you expect to buy more than five pallets a year, we can also discuss an individual price. Still deciding between a stock recipe and your own? Our comparison of private label vs white label nicotine pouches covers how that choice affects the timeline.

Many manufacturers only give it on request. Ours is 2,000 cans per order, whether you’re producing under your own brand or buying our range wholesale. Above that, volume steps up at 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 cans, and each step has its own price per can. We quote it for your project once we have the brief, and above five pallets a year an individual price is open for discussion.
